Welcome to German International School Boston’s reopening information page. We will update this site as more information becomes available so please check back throughout the summer.
GISB’s re-opening task force has been working hard this summer to ensure that our school is ready for classes at the end of August. Classrooms are being prepared, building upgrades made, and safety protocols put in place to help ensure student and staff safety. GISB will meet and exceed DESE safety expectations and minimize the risk of COVID in our community.
We understand that there is uncertainty now about what the public health situation will be at the end of August. Therefore GISB has developed three different action plans to respond accordingly and begin the school year on time. GISB is prepared to resume classes in our school buildings, but understand that this may not be possible and is thus also prepared to engage in various levels of remote instruction as needed. Please be assured that classes will commence on August 26 in accordance with Massachusetts guidelines.
We know that you have many questions about this fall and how to best prepare for the start of the school year. This site will be regularly updated to help keep you informed of our progress.
Updates from our Head of School, Holger Wirtz:
The reopening plan for our Lower Campus (Preschool & Kindergarten) can be found here.
The reopening plan for our Upper Campus (Grades 1- 12) will be available soon.
