Covid-19 Screening at GISB

Covid-19 Screening at GISB

GISB has implemented a mandatory weekly pooled surveillance testing for students and staff to identify & isolate asymptomatic carriers of the COVID-19 virus, thus enhancing the health & safety of our community. Surveillance testing is an additional layer of security and is intended to complement – and not replace – our previously implemented safety protocols such as social distancing, mask-wearing, disinfection, etc.

Testing Schedule:

Students and staff are tested weekly and testing dates depend on which grade a student is in. Lower Campus teachers, Elementary school class teachers, and ASP teachers will be tested together with their respective grades. For Middle and High School teachers as well as admin staff, the test sample drop off day is Wednesday.

  2. Receive weekly test kit at the school on distribution day
  3. Register kit online. The Online Registration Form will ask you to enter the barcode on your sample vial. You will need to enter the barcode twice as a safety measure. This process ensures that the barcode is your unique identifier.

How to Collect a Test Sample:

GISB uses “SalivaClearTM,” a saliva-based COVID-19 RT-PCR surveillance testing solution offered by Mirimus Clinical Labs. The sample self-collection approach is simple, safe, and noninvasive and does not require a doctor or nurse to be present.

The following document lists many common questions about the testing method we are using and GISB’s testing procedures and policies. The document will be updated regularly.
