Annual Membership Meeting

Annual Membership Meeting

We strongly encourage every parent of current students to become a member of the GISB corporation. There is no cost to become a member. As a member, you have a voice in how the school is run. The easiest way to exercise that right is to attend the Annual Membership Meeting where the BoT and the Head of the School share information about the financial health of the School, a year-in-review and strategic priorities for the year ahead. Your role is to ask questions and approve of their actions. Finally and importantly, elections for open seats on the BoT are held at the Annual Membership Meeting. The direct election of trustees is an opportunity for parents to play an integral role in shaping the School.

Other individuals who are interested in our School and its future are invited to become members of the GISB corporation, too. Whether you are a member of the community, parents of alumni, or alumni yourself, the process is simple: Fill out the membership application form and meet us at the next Annual Membership Meeting.  There is a nominal fee of $50.00 for individuals who are not current parents at the School.

Membership applications must be received at least 45 days before the annual meeting to make the applicant eligible to vote at the meeting. The annual meeting notice will be sent out at least 30 days prior to the meeting. Further details on the legal structure of GISB can be found in our by-laws in English and in German.

If you have any questions regarding membership, please don’t hesitate to write an email to nadja.key@gisbos.org
