Becca has a career background in university admission and and has chosen to move to the high school side as she is more interested in the students' Journey. She speaks English, Spanish, and ASL, and was born and raised in Boston where her family owns a local bakery. You'll often find her there when not at school.
Charlotte studied History with a minor in German Language at Boston University. She has been part of GISB since 2010 and coordinates the After School Programs (ASP), Ski Week and vacation camps.
Daniela was born in Bari, Italy. She holds a degree in translation from SSLMIT, University of Bologna and led a translation agency for 11 years in Germany. She also has extensive experience in IT. Daniela has three children at GISB since 2010. She speaks Italian, German, English, and Spanish and loves to travel!
Anna-Maria is from Bavaria and studied Communication Science at the University of Salzburg. During and after her master studies, she worked as a PR consultant and journalist until she moved to Boston in 2018. In her free time she enjoys exploring Boston's nature and cafes, as well as writing, yoga, and meeting new people.
Originally from Germany, Susanne has lived in the Boston area for over 25 years. Prior to that she has also lived in Brazil, Saudi Arabia and Oman. She has worked extensively with other exchange programs in the Boston area and looks forward to supporting all participants of our International Student Program.
Marion holds a degree in English and Journalism from Pine Manor College in Brookline, MA. She is German, but has lived in the US for more than 20 years. Her background is in education management, and she also has experience in preschool and international exchange programming. She has been with GISB since 2014.
Sara is originally from Boston and has lived and studied in Germany, Costa Rica and Spain. She has a J.D. from Washington College of Law and before moving to Germany, worked as a Legislative Aide on Capitol Hill. When she isn't at GISB, you can find her hiking, biking or traveling. She speaks English, Spanish and German.
Nadja has lived in Germany where she earned a Master’s degree in Communication and Media Sciences from the University of Leipzig. She also studied in New Zealand and worked in England. Before she came to the US in 2018, she gained experience in PR and internal communications. At GISB, she supports the Board of Trustees.
Sarah is a professional translator with a degree from the University of Heidelberg. She has lived in Germany, Zambia, Ethiopia, Namibia, Sweden, and now the United States since 2005. She is the Executive Assistant to the Heads of School and Administration, and has three children who attend GISB.
Filippo was born in South Tyrol, Italy and lived in Munich for ten years. He grew up speaking Italian and German and has lived in Boston since 1996. In addition to his role as Technology Director, Filippo is a GISB parent, has served on the Board of Trustees, and teaches Robotics in the After School Program.
Alicia speaks English, German and Afrikaans. Having grown up in South Africa, she moved to England where she became an RN. She also lived in Berlin, Germany but now considers the US her home. She has been with GISB since 2011.
Pia is from Austria and has lived, worked and studied in Germany, Spain, Chile and Brazil. Before joining GISB, she worked in project management and consulting in the non-profit, public and private sectors. She holds a PhD in business administration from the Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration.
In 2018/19 Matthias served as Interim Head of School. He previously worked as a Trade Specialist at the US Consulate in Hamburg and taught in Germany. Prior to GISB, he spent a year with his family traveling in North and Central America on sabbatical.
Paula Spencer manages financial operations at the School and is originally from the Midwest. She moved to the Boston area to complete graduate studies and never left, working in the financial sector before joining GISB. Paula has lived and worked in Germany, Austria, and Japan, and speaks German.
Holger is from Germany and studied at the University of Bonn, University of Wales / College of Cardiff and Münster University. He holds a degree in English and Theology. Before joining GISB he was Assistant Head of School and Head of School at a Gymnasium outside Hannover. Holger has three sons and loves outdoor sports.
