Alexandra Seifried-Thiel|Grade 3/4 & Art

Our students are highly motivated. They are really eager and they want to learn. From a teacher’s perspective, that attitude is what makes my job fun.

Alexandra studied Elementary School Education in Zürich and majored in Art. She is currently working towards her Master’s in Museum Education at Tufts University and is the liaison for GISB’s partnership with the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. She actively integrates technology into her classroom with a focus on awakening students’ critical media literacy. Alexandra believes in fostering independent inquiry; she empowers students to choose their own adventure in the classroom.

"The multiculturalism!"

Matthias Radke|Grades 5 – 12

I love teaching students from a variety of cultural backgrounds. You learn so much about the world and this makes the exciting challenge of teaching here all the more interesting.

Matthias studied Math, Physical Education and Political Science in Tübingen and Freiburg. He has a passion for experiential education and loves to bring even greater opportunities for hand-on learning to GISB’s middle and upper school students. Matthias, his partner, and their three children have been at GISB for a year, following their sabbatical spent traveling across North and South America. Matthias and his family particularly enjoy GISB’s small class sizes and multiculturalism.

Ineke Groeneveld|Kindergarten

There’s always something going on. In Kindergarten we are traveling around the world – we just built the Great Wall of China with sugar cubes and frosting!

Ineke studied Elementary Education in the Netherlands and has more than 25 years of teaching experience. She has been at GISB for 9 years and teaches both kindergarten and elementary students. Ineke delights in introducing children to different cultures and customs, cultivating global awareness. In GISB’s small kindergarten classes, she connects deeply with each child and supports independence and cooperation through creative projects.
