Becca has a career background in university admission and and has chosen to move to the high school side as she is more interested in the students' Journey. She speaks English, Spanish, and ASL, and was born and raised in Boston where her family owns a local bakery. You'll often find her there when not at school.
Charlotte studied History with a minor in German Language at Boston University. She has been part of the After School Program since 2010 and also coordinates Before School, Ski Week, April Camp and Summer Camp.
Daniela is a professional translator and experienced Office Manager. She was born in Bari, Italy, and lived in Germany for 15 years. She has lived in Boston since 2010, and has three children who currently attend GISB. Daniela speaks Italian, German, English, and Spanish and loves to travel.
Marion holds a degree in English and Journalism from Pine Manor College in Brookline, MA. She is German and has lived in the US for nearly 20 years. Her background is in education management, and she also has experience in preschool and international exchange programming. She has been with GISB since 2014.
Nancy holds a BS in Personnel & Industrial Relations from Ithaca College, and an MEd in Elementary Education from Lesley University. She taught fourth grade in Melrose, and has a background in HR. She studied in Copenhagen, and her children have all studied in Hamburg and/or Salzburg. She is excited to learn more German!
Antonia was born in Germany where she studied banking before moving to the US in 2002. She developed GISB’s After School and Camp programs and now runs the International Student Program. Antonia is known for welcoming international students and for her extensive Thanksgiving Table. She has been at GISB since 2008.
Helen holds a bachelors degree in Modern Languages (French & German) from the University of Bristol, UK. Her background is international business management and publishing. Helen speaks English, German and French and currently drives the development function at GISB.
Sarah is a professional translator with a degree from the University of Heidelberg. She has lived in Germany, Zambia, Ethiopia, Namibia, Sweden, and now the United States since 2005. She is the Office Manager for our Lower Campus, and has three children who attend GISB.
Filippo was born in South Tyrol, Italy and lived in Munich for ten years. He grew up speaking Italian and German and has lived in Boston since 1996. In addition to his role as IT Coordinator, Filippo is a GISB parent, has served on the Board of Trustees, and teaches Robotics in the After School Program.
Liz has an MFA from Massachusetts College of Art & Design. She brings a broad base of experience to her role at GISB with a background in site-specific installation art, education, graphic design, and fundraising.
Alicia speaks English, German and Afrikaans. Having grown up in South Africa, she moved to England where she became an RN. She also lived in Berlin, Germany but now considers the US her home. She has been with GISB since 2011.
Matthias studied in Germany, France and Canada and teaches Middle and Upper School. He previously worked as a Trade Specialist at the US Consulate in Hamburg and taught at a grammar school in southern Germany. Before joining GISB in 2015 he spent a year with his family on sabbatical traveling in North and Central America.
Jochen studied Educational Science, German and Philosophy at the University of Hamburg, where he was awarded his PhD in 1997. He has extensive experience in schools, education administration and teacher training. He is a member of the editorial team at Pädagogik, the largest educational publication in the German language.
Paula Spencer manages financial operations at the School and is originally from the Midwest. She moved to the Boston area to complete graduate studies and never left, working in the financial sector before joining GISB. Paula has lived and worked in Germany, Austria, and Japan, and speaks German.
Megan holds a BA from Smith College and an MPhil from the University of Cambridge, UK. She taught at a Grammar School (Gymnasium) in Germany as a Fulbright Scholar. Since returning to the US, Megan has focused in education leadership in Boston as a teacher, advisor and program leader with public and private schools.
