German International School Boston holds a number of accreditations, most notably by the Federal Republic of Germany. We are one of only seven schools in North America receiving funding from the German government. In 2011, the German government recognized GISB as an Exzellente Auslandsschule (German School Abroad of Excellence), the highest accreditation level awarded. Although we are relative newcomers to Boston’s venerable independent school community, as a member of the global network of more than 140 German Schools Abroad, GISB is part of an established tradition of excellence and international cooperation.
In addition to surpassing the rigorous accreditation requirements of the German government, GISB is recognized locally as an Affiliate Member of the Association of Independent Schools of New England.
We are particularly proud to be recognized as a MINT-freundliche Schule (a STEM-friendly School). In the 2015-2016 school year, GISB was added to their network of German schools with a STEM focus.
